Powder Brows
Powder brow, or Ombre Brow, is a permanent makeup technique that enhances your natural brow shape by providing a soft, shaded effect with the option to build up to a more defined look.
This technique enhances and builds upon your existing brow shape and fullness, delivering a face framing and eye lifting effect — perfect for those seeking a natural enhancement. Unlike traditional microblading, powder brows are a wonderful solution for long-term, beautiful results.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are powder brows better than microblading?
The choice between powder brows and microblading ultimately depends on individual preferences and skin types, but powder brows offer several advantages that make them a superior and sustainable choice for a wide range of clients:
Skin Type Compatibility: Powder brows are generally better suited for a wider range of skin types, including oily or mature skin, where microblading might not age as well or may cause more trauma.
Natural, Softer Look: Powder brows provide a soft, shaded effect that mimics the look of softly applied makeup. This technique offers a more natural gradient compared to the hair stroke technique of microblading, which often blurs together over time.
Less Trauma: Unlike microblading, which involves making cuts in the skin, powder brows use a shading technique that is less invasive, minimizing skin trauma and reducing the risk of scarring.
Longevity: Powder brows typically have better color retention over time, leading to a longer-lasting, softer effect. When making any cut into the skin, it is scientifically proven that scar tissue will form. Microblading is not sustainable in the long-term.
Do you do microblading color corrections?

What should I expect during my powder brow appointment?
Expect your intial appointment to be 2.5 to 3 hours long.
This includes:
Comprehensive Consultation: We'll discuss your brow goals to ensure our powder brow technique aligns with your vision and that we're the right fit (schedule a 20-minute, commitment-free consultation here).
Brow Mapping: Your artist will carefully map out the shape of your brows before beginning the powder brow treatment. This is mutually agreed upon and should we disagree, we will not continue.
Powder Brow Application: This is where the transformation happens. Clients often find this part relaxing, with some even taking a brief nap.
Review aftercare instructions: Powder brow aftercare can be found here.
Schedule touch up appointment 8 to 10 weeks later: One appointment is not considered a full treatment. Touch ups are booked separately and expected for optimal results.
Do powder brows hurt?
Our clients do not find our powder brows treatment painful. Topical numbing agents are used throughout the service.
How long do powder brows last?
This will vary from person to person. Results are dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, adherence to pre- and after- care instructions, the immune system, lifestyle and more.
Typically, clients revisit us for refresher appointments every year or year and a half. While your powder brows may not completely fade, it will soften in time with our approach.
Do I need a touch up appointment?
Yes. On average, one powder brow treatment is not enough for optimal results. A touch up appointment is strongly recommended.

Are powder brows worth it?
If you are unsure if lip blush is the treatment for you, we recommend requesting a consultation. It is commitment-free and helps ensure your goals align with the results our lip blushing treatment can provide.
Can a tattoo artist do powder brows?
In the State of Massachusetts, licensed tattoo artists are the only professionals legally permitted to perform any permanent makeup services, including powder brows.
